The Kennedy Center Ballet Class Series and the Kennedy Center Contemporary Dance Series offer advanced dance students interested in a performance career the unique opportunity to learn from a variety of nationally and internationally recognized dance companies and artists performing this season at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. In addition, students will be given the opportunity to attend open rehearsals, and participate in additional workshops or masterclasses for a discounted fee. Admission to the series is by audition only, chosen by a panel of Washington, D.C. area dance artists. Any dancers entering grades 9 through 12 are eligible to apply and audition. Students accepted who chose to take part in the program are expected to commit to the required schedule. Please coordinate and communicate with your regular instructors to make sure that, if accepted, you are able to attend.
Ballet Class Series Auditions will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 11:00AM-12:30PM and 2:00-3:30PM.
Contemporary Dance Series Auditions will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 4:00PM-5:30PM.
Both auditions will be held in Studio F in the REACH.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior the audition, dressed and ready.
Application deadline is Friday, November 1, 2024.
Application Fee: $25 per audition, payable by cash or check on site
Please note: Students who wish to audition for BOTH Ballet and Contemporary Dance Series must attend one ballet audition and the contemporary audition.
Tuition fee: $199 per program
